About the Author

SARAH GRACE MCCANDLESS

When Sarah Grace was four, she knew exactly what she wanted to be when she grew up: a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader or a bus driver. Sadly, neither panned out, so she became a writer instead. After spending her formative years in the Midwest, she then headed to Portland, OR for eight years before moving to the east coast in 2004.

She is the author of two fiction novels, Grosse Pointe Girl: Tales from a Suburban Adolescence and The Girl I Wanted to Be, both published by Simon & Schuster. Sarah Grace has also published short fiction and essays in several anthologies including Sexy Chix (Dark Horse Comics), Electric Grace (Gargoyle Press), and Cassette From My Ex (St. Martin’s).  She likes to multitask, so on top of that, she's been a regional producer for Mortified Live and a regular contributor to a variety of publications and websites, including Venus, Swindle, Daily Candy, and Forces of Geek.

Sarah Grace also has over 10 years of brand management and marketing experience, including writing and developing campaigns and online content for bunch of different clients including television networks, film studios, automotive companies, search portals, and wireless communication manufacturers. What that means is she knows how to play office.

SG lives with her husband and her Corgi, Awesome-O, just outside of New York, where is currently working on a new book project, semi-stalking Tina Fey, sometimes teaching creative writing through Gotham Writers, constantly talking about herself in third person, and consistently putting the "White Wine and Cupcakes Diet" into daily practice.
